01 · A comfortable starting point
Use age and level guidance to choose a first book, then read a page together. Notice the amount of text, unfamiliar words and how much help your child wants. Choose something easier or more challenging when needed.

Look beyond the total number of books. Can you find a subject your child enjoys? Read a description and look at the cover together. Let them choose between a few suitable titles.
Try this: Search the Pupila library by title or topic. Save your choice for your next reading time, rather than scrolling through the whole collection.
03 · Help when they want it
Try a page with narration and a page you read aloud yourself. Check whether you can pause, repeat or turn off automatic playback. The controls should support the way you want to share the story.

Try the app on the phone or tablet you will use. Check that the words are readable, the pictures are easy to see and page turns feel natural. Let your child try the controls with you nearby.

05 · Ready for your routine
If you read while travelling, test a downloaded book before the trip. Open it without a connection while your account access is valid, so you know what is ready to read.

06 · A choice you can try
Check what is included, the billing period and the renewal terms on the purchase screen. Try an available free book before deciding whether the library suits your family.
